what is it? i got a ticket today for being "too low", but when i looked up the statute # online (316.251) it's topic is MAXIMUM bumper height. ive looked all over flsenate.gov and cannot find anywhere that says what deems a vehicle "too low"

any help or direction to look in would be awesome, considering its a $121.50 ticket w/ points associated with it. thanks guys

yea, he wrote down approx 6" from the ground. i know in some states that its the lowest part of the vehicle must not be below the bottom lip of the rim. in which case would be awesome, cuz my sidewall is like 3.5-4" (195-60-15)

I would fight it and say it was th wrong violation # writen on the ticket
I got three on fer no tag light one for un safe vihicle and one for improper tail lights and a $100 tow bill cops are dicks and will never stop herrasing us so we are just gonna have to live with it. Or just shower them with sparks and continuously get ticket till they get tired of giving us tickets. just my :2cents: VC4Life!

I am from FL and there is no minimum height. You most likely got an unsafe vehicle ticket. The ticket may say vehicles was riding to low but theres no specific law for that. They just throw it in as something else like improper equipment or unsafe vehicle or what ever else they feel like calling it. I have seen them get thrown out in court but there is no guarantee. I just concider all the tickets they gave me as my donations to the loacal government. My best was a ticket that said (traveling more then 500ft down the beach on only three wheels) I love that one. It was an unsafe equipment ticket. Good luck if you try to beat it.

its definately not under the "unsafe vehicle" category. when i go to the site it gives max bumper heights front and back for cars and trucks of different weight classes. if it were an unsafe ticket id say fuck it cuz theres no winning that. but i also dont wanna fight it with such a little leg to stand on.

would anyone reccomend talking to highway patrol about it? itd be nice to not have to pay this. and also have written proof that i can ride like that and be in accordance with the law. just b/c the cop said he sees me all the time. itd almost be like "stickin one to the man" but then again, hed probly start gunnin for me.

WOW! Im glad I dont live there.....Both my trucks are bodydropped and I ride 2" or less off the ground all the time here. They just watch me roll by. I got pulled over by an undercover cop because they thought I was dealing (they had the wrong guy) one night and the backup officer asked me what kind of clearence I had under the truck and I just said "a little". Nothin else was said about it. They didnt say anything about my led's, tag in the back window with no light, no hood, or anything else like that.

you should be able to beat it, my sister had a ticket thrown out for the cop writing down the wrong color of the vehicle, your cop wrote down the wrong offense. Good luck
