I guess i just dont get it, arent we all part of the "automotive" scene? Do you have to take certain steps to be nominated with the title "mini trucker"? I kinda had the mistaken thought that we were doing this because we enjoy it, to meet people, and to have a good time in general, not to fit into a title. What makes all of us "mini truckers" so much different and better than anyone else?

beacuse we're not balla-balla styles... we're not low-riders.

people take offence to titles that aren't theirs. i own a fullsize, and i don't consider myself a mini-trucker..

so whats that mean?

So does that mean I should go hang myself because I have a big stereo??? lol. But really though I understand and agree with that but just because I do have a big stereo doesnt mean my truck is any different then some of your trucks. I have always been into stereos not just because I think it will make me look kool cause it really doesnt... especailly with people always stealing stereos these days. But my truck wasnt done in a day. My suspension is not bolt on if you can tell from the pics. I have been building this truck for a few years now and its still not done.

Fuck yeah!! I emailed Travis and told him that it was a great write up. That's the problem right there with the West Coast scene... Too many people doing shit that they seen on pimp my ride!!! That is the exact reason why I love East Coast shows more than the West!

I absolutely agree that the lambo doors, money flaunting baller inspired style is getting a little ridiculuous...

But to publish a magazine article essentially chastising the owners of every one of these types of vehciles for not being "hardcore" enough, or "custom enough".... that doesnt sit right with me.

These vehicles, to the owners, are just like our vehicles to us. They are their pride, they have created this vehicle in their head, made it their own, and get to see it, live it, drive it every day. Just like we do with our vehicles. Allthough the way we do it is different, and requires more skill. How dare we put down someone elses work because it does not follow the guidelines we have set for ourselves.

If you ask me, i think a lot of the more hardcore minitruckers just arent the same type of people as these "baller" style customizers, and just plain dont like them, and additionally jealousy can be a factor that nobody wil ever admit to. Even the writer of the article himself mentions "where does all the money come from?"

I dont think these vehicles take nearly the thought, and creativity as many of todays minitrucks, but i think it's a shame because this article is written bashing a trend in the scene and everyone rallies behind it. I bet you anything if 2 years ago truckin mag posted the same article about bolt on bagged s10s on 18s and 20s, a lot more people would have been pissed off.

If i was to write an article about the direction of the scene. i think i would focus more on that it has suddenly become ok to piss all over someones pride in a public forum.

I'm not saying they don't take pride in their rides or trying to stereotype anyone. I seen and know from experience that a lot of these guys running around here with their escalades and 24's or 26's pimp around here thinkin they are the shit and look down to us who drive trucks that have just as much or more money in them, a thousand more hours of work time in them, and most of them have'nt done more than bolt on a set of wheels and some funky lookin doors. I live 30 minutes away from Charlotte, N.C. adn if you ride through uptown Charottle in the middle of the day I guarantee that you'll see 3 or more of the same escalades and spinning wheels within a few minutes. The more time you spend there the more you'll see. And these guys wouldn't stop and have a conversation with you for nothing, even if its about there ride. They act like they're too hardcore to even look your way

Why not?

I think more so what they're trying to do is establish the seperation between the two... like hot rods a mini-trucks, and sport ricers stuff and low-low's...

and i feel free to piss on anyone i want... everyone loves a good golden shower!
