so theres one for sale near my house, cranked tbars(im assumin tbars)its all ghetto. they only want 400 bux for it. not sure if it runs. only problem is they cut the roof off and made a roadster. im just curious how hard a cab would be to find.(the roadster portion is NASTY)the body is kinda strait on it though. they tried fiber glassing the tail gate and roll pan to the bedside.what u guys think is it a good deal?

If it runs, max of 150 bucks. If it don't 75 dollars. You shouldnt pay more than that considering age and condition.

Its not a ford motor, back then the couriers were made by mazda. It will be a 2 liter OHC timing chain variant of the later FE Mazda truck motors, in fact the block is shared.

200 would be a stretch, but not too much for a runner.

Mine had a mazda engine. 2000cc. Some did come with the 2.3 witch is the same used in mustangs and pintos. I love those trucks. I'm going to build my son one when he gets older. BTW the cabs are easy to find most older junkyards have them.

whoa! I never knew that. My repair manual for the courier/sundowner doesnt even list that possibility... are you positive?

haha I love this place. Learn something every day.

My brother had an 82 Courier with the mazda engine, even the glass said "mazda". And my buddy Butch, he went so far as to buy all the mazda only parts for his courier back in 1990 because it was cooler, but it still had a 2.0l Mazda in his 1981.
