now i have a serious control arm question. byc dont come with the crossbar and are said to work with the factory crossbar. art come with the crossbar, and powdercoated, and ship same day. etc etc. so, how do you get that factory crossbar out of your control arms and put them in the byc. probably a pain right. i assume they are pressed in. so for $125 more, you get the crossbar, powdercoat, and get your arms in a few days. this is just on the s10 arms and nothing more. for you that have them, how bad was it to use your factory crossbar.

it takes maybe 10 minutes to get the crossbar out with a grinder with a cutoff blade on it.
its a cost savings issue and an issue of using a easy to find replacement bushing, the same ones that fit the stock arms.

sean, your simply mistaken.

all of our parts are made with 14 thick DOM, we use nothing else in the shop, unless its for making a jig. we use some chromoly for crossmembers and such but all tube arms are DOM

if you have a set of parts made by me from September 2004 on they are DOM

I challenge anyone to show us a BYC part made after sept 2004 to not be DOM tube. ill give you anything in my shop if you can prove it not DOM, that means, anything, welder, truck, anything you want and the above mentioned 1000.00 cash

this topic just took a huge twist didn't it?!? at first everyone was pissed about not getting their arms, now they're bashing about his quality.

matt, we make tube arms that are thicker and larger diameter tubing than the ART arms, we choose to use stock type balljoints and energy suspension bushings. we feel this saves the customer money on the crossbar, which the factory part is plenty strong.
many pople would rather have their parts bare steel, so thats what we offer.

on the lowers we send them with the shock tabs loose and no sway bar tabs, that way the 90% of people who dont use them dont have to cut them off, dont have to cut off and move the shock tabs and dont have to grind off the powdercoating.

How MUCH cost are you trying to save. You already are cutting a ton in cost MIKE by your materials. Here is the biggest one for you I can get you a s-10 upper arm for your 1 st gen s-10 or s-10 blazer that is made of DOM and comes powdercoated with cross shaft, steel greasable bushings for $122.50 not shipped. So what is the freaking deal. I ve now started to really get unerved by some of this that is being said about BYC. I at first stood up for you until I did a little investigating. PLUS WHY havent you made anytype of remark about your arm MATERIAL? Doesnt that concern you? I can see there are people out there that make the honest and hardworking have to work twice as hard to make a living cuz of others that ruin and spoil a good thing of building aftermarket parts.
