Truckin ran an article about 5 years ago using stock hinges on a 67-72 chevy. Very nice tech article, and looks fairly straight forward.
I'd really like to see that

after doing a few suicide door jobs in the last few years, i feel like i can add a couple of cents. the most important aspect of installing the hinges is where you mount your pivot point. you can use stock hinges and get the factory swing "in" or you can modify the available kits like jasons. the stock hinges may not work perfectly in the rear jamb on various trucks when mounted exactly like the front oem mount. if the front of your door is straight up and down, the hinges will work easily like stock. if your door is slightly rounded or curved in the front, they will not work as easy. when i mention rounded or curved, i mean viewing the driver door head on, the front door/fender bodyline has a slight "c" shape. the rear of your door will be straight up and down with no curve or shape built in. this can affect your install dramatically. but, for your C10 chevy, you should try the stock hinges. they will work the best, look stock, are adjustable and give you the factory "in swing" that is posted above. you can modify the aftermarket kits to open like stock but in this case i wouldn't bother. good luck.
btw, your truck looks good

OK I found the article, but my scanner is not working. March 1998 Mini Truckin (the one with Jowe Musso's green&silver Toyota) has a tech article on stock hinge suicide doors on a Toyota done by The Chop Shop. I'll try to get pics.

Yeah I need to see some pics and I guess I'll be on the lookout for a mid 70s Ford truck I can rob the hinge and jambs and everything off of.
