problem with ignition system

so u replaced all three, got a buddy with a 83 and his is doing the same thing. he has carried it to the dealership and 2 other mechanics and they don't know what it is. i told him i thought it was a fuel problem. they thinks its electrical. which will cost more to fix. the fuel filters will definitly be cheaper to fix. thanks for the help.
