thats for only 22R carb though... I got a 94 efi and wanted to know if u tap into the coil which wire is the rpm signal... dunno but my friend told me the green wire??? I probe all the wires from the ignitor to coil and all of them reads a signal so I'am stuck...

thats what thats for? sweet, im going to be putting a tach in my toyota and i had this same question. thanks.

will any tach work or do i need to get one specific for the 22r? or do i just cut the wire off and splice them together? could i get the connector from toyota that is used in the trucks w/ tachs already that way i could just splice the new connector onto the tach and make it removable if need be.

Neg side of the coil is the tach drive, Or if you have MSD and ditched the ignitor just plug it in to the MSD box or finr the tach signal off the ECU and tie in there

on the EFI rides, just run a wire throught the firewall... on the under hood diagnostic connector, if you open the cover on it, you will see one large terminal, labeled IG- Thats your tach signal wire- as for programming the tach you bought, just look at the instructions- some have switches to flip or wire loops to cut to "program" them for a 4 - 6- or 8 cyl engine.

So just tap into that IG terminal and that will work... no problems on programming the tach just finding out what wire to tap into to get the RPM signal is what I was concern about.. some say tap into the coil and some say its a green wire on the ignitor so I was all confused???? I tap into the ignitor and it sent a signal but dunno if that a good place to put it..

i think programming the tach = cutting the wires to = 4cyl.
