Thinking of making these.

heres a few pics of the new manifold i engineered. it can use all the stock shit from the motor and has 5 ports out back for vaccum. sits below the valve cover and adds around 15-20 hp at about 4300-6500rpm, it doesnt diminish any of the low end tourqe but is a top end based manifold. not necesarily designed for performance but definatley for stock hood applications.

wow. looks real good man. abit late for me, but i was wondering, i know you cant go but so far because of the fuel rail, but why not chop down the lower plenum and move the new piece toward the center?

oh, and btw, just to be clear, this is only necessary on trucks that are cut past the pinch, or when the motor is not dropped via cradle or mounts, correct?

well, the closer you get to the block, it ups the power range, and most of us with a 22re arent runnin any super high rpms or crazy power ratios so it is positioned where its at to keep the power range reasonable for a naturally aspirated motor. if it was turbo, or supercharged with lots of high hp and rpm it would make sence to have it closer, but think of it like this. if i chop an inch off of the runners, that ups the performance range by about a thousand rpm so if it was gonna make power at 3000 where its at and now we shorten it, now it doesnt make power until around 4000, which is kind of unreasonable for a 22re. second, the heater hose inlests and such have been closed on mine but obviously will be left open on any others i make and this distance provides enough room for everything to fit in there still comfortably and be ran cleanly at the same time.

this is made for anyone who cant fit a stock hood because of the body drop, if you just lower the motor with mounts you may clear depending on the bd amount but think of it as the highest part of the motor being taken away and now your valve cover is the highest and most bodydrops will leave the motor still sticking out but may clear the stock hood because the valve cover protrudes into the hood bubble that is factory. so this isnt an aternative to lowered mounts persay, it is an option for a way cleaner look, added performance, and lots of help for a stock hood. i see it being used by the cats with bigger bd's like to the rocker and lower. my truck is doored and its stock floored so that being said, there is less room than if it were traditionally bd, because the frame is shorter height wise.

well, most custom manifolds are around 700 for any import such as honda, mitsubishi, subaru etc.

the price is gonna be around 499.99 no core and 449.99 with a core.

obviously the core is the runners from the block/

yeah, i'm familiar with stock flooring and the like. mine is no where as much as yours, but its 2x3 under the cab, seth's 1" mounts and the pinches are rolled flat. the only thing close enough to worry about on mine is the sensor on top of the egr crap on the back of the upper plenum. seems that only 94^ had those damn things.

and i get what you're saying about some performance gain from this since you basically cut off the upper plenum's runners and attached it directly to the lower. so that moves the powerband up abit and smooths out the path. makes sense. gracias.

anyway, nice looking piece. you should sand and buff the whole thing.
