I don't remember cutting any off of the bottom of the notch. First we found the center of the axle tubes and marked them on each side of the frame. We lined the center of the axle tube up w/ the center of the notch and measured out the find where to cut the frame. After notching the top of the frame, we slid in the notch on each side and get it perfectly level and straight. Welded up everything we could and then cut out the center. Finished welding everything up.

He is installing a tubular notch from Gravity-Werx. Way different than an 8 piece notch.
