transmission question

will a 5 speed transmission from a 4 cylinder motor(ford ranger) bolt onto a 3.0L motor?

I belive the transmissions are the same, may use a diff clutch though. i will try to find out today at work.

Okay, best i can tell the only difference is the size of the clutch disc and cover. the throw out/release bearing and pilot bearings are the same. the clutch and cover for the 3.0 is 1/8 of an inch bigger than the 2.3. The 3.0 is 1 1/8 ' x 23t spline and the 2.3 is 1" x 23t spline. that 1/8 " will probably make the diff. on it sliding on.
