Grindin Tabs

Ok....i see u guys grind the tabs on ur hubs down instead of Boring ur wheels.
..which is better? Is it safe to grind ur tabs down? The reason y i ask is because shops down here in Hawaii don't do a good job boring wheels....any pics of how to grind the tabs and whatnd of disc to use to grind them? Thanks
