OK, I just finished this swap, but now my truck is idling at around 2000-2250 RPM and when I turn the key off, it keeps running then eventually dies. I followed the how to on this forum, but, I'm not able to see what I've done wrong. I do have the wire with the ring terminal from the stock harness hooked up to the new alternator. Could that be the problem? I also switched the wire from the new alternator to a different plug on the stock wire plug.

Please help! Its frustrating!!

Thanks in advance.

Manual?
Automatic?
Stock Carb?
EFI?????

We'll need more infer to help. Are you sure a vacuum line didn't fall off?

My bad. Its a 5 speed, stock carb. And as far as I know, I didn't unhook any vacuum lines. I didn't really mess with all that stuff. Just the alternator. But, I can double check the vacuum lines.

OK, so, I ditched the stock carb and all the emissions crap, got my Weber on and working like it should, no more issues with the 130 amp alternator. So far, so good.
