What would be the best swap for fuel economy? Im guessing the kia swap? What numbers have you guys been getting? My tired truck is getting 18-20 mpg and is getting old

from what ive read, kia swap is your best bet for gas milage. any motor swap on these trucks is worth it tho.

Don't do a swap to save money on gas!!!
It will take YEARS to recoup the cost of the swap, in mileage.
Swaps are done for many reasons... saving money isn't one of them.
It's an oxymoron.

However, if you're going to do the swap anyway, the Kia would net you a good MPG.

Either the Kia setup or find a running RF diesel import. If you are willing to do more work on the swap you could find other diesels like a 2.2 or 2.5 Mercedes Diesel, or a VW TDI.

The idea of recouping costs of an engine swap with better mileage would take a very long time, unless you were to convert to a free fuel supply (like veg oil)

Diesel would be great as I clean used veggy oil for my job. Hard part is finding the motors. On the kia swap.. what are you guys averaging on mpgs? Im looking to go all stock minus exhaust and a intake.
