why only a 305? 305, 350 and 400's we all built with the same block. Are you a strong welder? You have alot of fabrication ahead of you.

Then go with it. I saw a guy this week who had a 2200 with a 350, all he did for motor mounts was add plates off the stockers. personally I'm make all new mount plates, since these motors produce so much torqe

will the yota rear end hold up to the torque of the 305?

all day long you could put 400hp to it and it will hold it but you better put on big brakes it wont stop for shit

a 305 is rated at 140 - 150 HP "stock" w/ minor upgrades like carb/cam/headers/roller rockers... ect, you can probably squeeze 220 out of it. The 305s downfall was the smog heads. Regardless, a Yota rear will prolly hold for a 305 but... IMO (I have built numerous Chevys 3 1st 2nd gen camaros and a 67 stepside w/383 stroker) I wouldnt waste the $ on a 305. Stock 350s are a dime a dozen and start at 220HP out of the box (depending on which model) without putting a shit ton of expensive upgrades on it. Anything over 200 HP, I personally would cut down a Chevy 10 bolt rear end to fit, that will eleviate a lot of issues and give you a bullet proof set up for tire smoking!!!

The only reason im goin with a yota rear end cause i already have my rims and they are yota lug pattern.
