thanks for all the input!! ill post pics soon, but i ended up doin it. a single 10" and sealed the inside under the lid. I wasnt lookin for alot, mainly just some fill.....and it did all that and then some for me. there is about 1 cubic ft of air space in there for anyone whos curious.

you can use the shallow mount subs, they are thin but work like regular subs. also a buddy of mine and me laid out foil and fiberglass a mold of it and it worked nice.
