Just got a sub hooked up in my truck tonight and everytime I turn the cd player on and off or switch the source, there is a pop through the sub. Im guessing its a ground problem? Im going to add a ground off the back of the cd player tomorrow, just wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on what it could be?

Added a ground didnt make a difference. Going to change where the amp is grounded. Any thoughts?

I've got a simmilar problem but i think my head units shot. I have all four speakers run off the integrated amp on the back of the deck, and my subs off the rca, and the only sould i get is a really distorted popping from the sub. all my grounds are good, i've checked everything like 3 times. I'd say test it out with another set of subs, and another amp, see if thats where the problem is or if its with the head.

Yeah it is a Pioneer. Its a DEH-5900ib. Ive also noticed that when switching sources it really makes the lights dim when it pops, whether its running or not. Ill try running a new remote wire and see if that makes a difference. How do you ground the rca shield? Ive seen that mentioned, but not how to do it.

Try turning down the gain(power output) on the amp.

hmmm could just be the deck. i have the premier version of that deck and if i recall mine does it too lol. to ground an rca you take a piece of wire, strip some of the insulation off and basically hook it to the outer shield of the rca; plug it in and ground the other end to a reliabe ground

**Thread Jack** I've got a pioneer DEH-4100UB so if anyone has heard of my problem chime in. lol. my sony did the poping thing when it turned on too, but it was so low it was barely noticable
