Okay say I want to paint a sub box after I finish it. Made entirely from MDF. Its it possible to prep the wood so that paint will look good on it? I will probably radius the edges, and fill the screw holes, then paint with primer base and clear. But I've heard that wood can make paint look shitty? Any way to prep it so that it looks decent painted?
Kilz?
Edit - I don't want brush on really, because I want it to turn out smooth.
you can put thinner in it and spray it
mdf is smooth just lightly sand it and wi[e it down with a damp cloth, to get the surface clean, then use primer filler and then you can paint and clear
Alright, I'll give that a shot. I've got everything to do it. So worst case scenario is looks like poo and I cover it in carpet or vynil. Lol. I got my subs today, so I just need to find a jigsaw to borrow.
yeah that would work too lol
come get mine lol you can borrow any 7 of them lol
you could put a coat of fiberglass resin on the box and then just sand it so its smooth.
who needs that many jig saws?haha
