One thing that happens to the stock lights are that the "silvering" that is on the inside of the light itself, will wear off and therefore it loses it's ability to project the light forward.........but they light up the engine bay at night REAL GOOD!!!
So, to see if your installed headlights are "worn out inside" just turn them on at night.........and open your hood! If you can see a bunch of light escaping out of the backside of the bulbs, it's time to put some new ones in........even if they're still working.
