Ok, so I got my rollpan in from Grants, by the way, thinks alot Matt. This is my first mazda or any kind of mini truck build. Do you have to cut the factory rollpan off, or just weld the new one on?

from what i understand you can do it both ways. most of your seasoned minitruckers cut it off and amateurs weld over.

you can notch out where the plate goes in your original and bend the rest back, the way i was taught though is to cut the old pan completely out.
i think it makes for a cleaner install overall.

heres the start of mine...

try to cut most of it out of the way, that way you can get behind it to hammer and dolly it.

the sheet metal is pretty thin, do I need to brace it? I hate sounding like I'm stupid, but I would rather sound that way than screw something up.

you could run a brace along the bottom if you plan on dragging it.

Also my lower bed corners are dented in on both sides, what is the easiest way to bend them back out without cutting or using a shit ton of filler?

a hammer and dolly will get your bad corners back where they need to be.

hey crazy, can you PM those directions to me? I just like trying to build my own ride instead of paying someone.
