ALSA makes spray bombs that spray really nice, and they make a catalyzed 2 part clear in a spray bom...really trick stuff.
i read this whole article like 3 or more months ago, there is one on a honda site too,
i tried it to a 4x4 fender,
i used white plastikote rust-not thinned with scented mineral spirts, painted it on with a roller, worked like crap.......so i used a foam brush for the remainder of the coats...
it has been in my crawlspace for almost two months curing. so i can do the final wetsand and polish.
it's pretty suprising how glossy it is.....and because it builds so thick you can wetsand out all the orange peel...
i think it's too much effort to look nice, but the results are pretty amazing
It costs as much as a maaco paintjob that you can wetsand and polish too...so why bother.
maaco does $50 paint jobs? even if they did I wouldn't want another. I had a car that had a fresh maaco cheapo paint job on it and the clear ripped off after about a year.
....holy crap?
I guess I better get out of the auto body business! Everyone will be brushing paint on their rigs from now on.
thats the same paint i used on my chassis but i sprayed it i am super pleased...
