that is a g-body, and to my knowledge you can't take the body off the frame as it's a "true" unibody vehicle......

if you could, we probly would have powdercoated my brothers frame.

so that car is not really similar to a truck at all, other than the fact that it can carry stuff in the back.

ok ok you got me....i posted a pic of a unobody elcamino..but the earlyerones in the sixties and early seventies WERE body on frame.

"1968-72 frames had two different wheelbases, a 116 and 112 inch wheelbase. Sedans , station wagons, and utilities like the El Camino used a 116 inch frame, and the frame is interchangeable, except that the sedan had non-boxed rails."
thread post photo

Much more better..

Is an UNObody like the card game with the 4 colors?

Were're working on an 80 ElCamino right now and it has a full frame. I think that it was 85 when the new style monte carlo was introduced.

I've seen the truck in person @ Southeast Showdown and it's a nice truck. Paint looks good and overall a good looking truck. You guys are right about your assumptions. The part where they joined the bed and cab is a little wavy and it has some cracks.

Im soooooo jealous, it may have "flaws" but that is one of the coolest looking trucks ive ever seen, the color, the style of truck, wheels, everything, i wish i could find more pix of it

What about the Ford Raider/Mazda Bravo?

I gaurantee that they use the same frame as a B2600...
