stamped mazda gate

i'm doin a deal right now, an x cab and a single cab parts truck... the parts trucks tailgate is the stamped one i want it on teh x cab but... the gate is kinda crinkled... would i be able to cut the stamped mazda logo out of the gate and put it in the x cabs gate somehow?

how do i do that? do i just cut it out, and cut a matching hole in the gate and weld it up?

yes, that would work, but making sure not to warp either of the two surfaces will be fun.

i have a stamped gate in good condition, i would sell it to help someone out but i need another one in good condition with at least a chrome handle......
