Your right on with the welds. Do one move over a few inches do another. About 6 at a time then let cool. I would weld with your window up and a blanket over it.
yea the metal will burn into the glass and when it rains your window will rust...lol...
just take your time with the welds. the door will warp pretty easily. i would say do a little on one door, then switch to the other. and go back and forth. it will allow for more cooling on each door.
go slow and just tack tack tack and push them together
Yea the o- crap i left my keys in there .not good. I Had shaved door handles on my extended cab - it had a outside button that wasn't weather proofed to well . Now - im lookin into doing my doors now as well -
i just cut a notch out of my door welded up two flush bolts and bolted up my popper, then repeated on other side
