why use 4x4 body parts?

Whats the deal with 4x4 body panels? are they wider? why use 4x4 hood?

the 4x4 fenders and bed give you a wider area to work with making it easier for your wheels to tuck since they are typically wider due to the 6 lug pattern we have, as far as the 2600i hood it is just a different look, a nicer look i think and im sure many will agree but im pretty sure that it has no functional purpose on our trucks, it has the bubble because the 2600i is fuel injected and the top of the motor needs more clearance
