I have a 92 B2200 static dropped & 3" blocks in the rear sitting on QX 56 18" wheels My question: Autozone have the Gabriel Guardian shocks for 92 isuzu trucks Part # 81478 for $16.99 ea. & Advance Auto Parts has the Monroe brand shocks part # 59001 for 16.99 ea both are for the front. Witch ones are the better buy or best ride feel between the two please i need help!

Alright, got the shocks on the truck today "Monroe" . Yes Sosa if i don't like them i get my $$ back & try the Gabriel brand. Anyway i notice the lower control arms sits on the square bump stops, should i remove them for clearance? And also im thinking of re-indexing the torsion bars since the bolts are sticking out & im afraid to hit them on the road. any one please help me on this. THANKS !

Definitely re-index the torsion bars. Major pain in the azz if you catch one of those at any speed and rip one out. Removing the bump stops will help how it rides but will also allow it to go lower (read previous sentence). I am running Monroe's and can only say they are not to bad. But then again my spring rates are a little wack so I really can't blame ride issues on the shocks LOL

i heard that Monroes and Gabriels aren't good for lowering springs or sporty rides, but usually fine for daily drivers. Gabriels i think are cheaper but Monroes have more positive feedbacks based on what i've read. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. If you buy "budget" shocks, they will not last as long as the original and may not give the same ride quality. However, more expensive doesn't always mean better, either.
