I am running the Bilsteins on all my vehicles, but for years I ran Monroe gas matics. Pep boys used to have a chart that showed compressed lengths and extended lengths. I found some that were for a car about the same weight and had the proper dimensions. It took some research and some measurements, but the truck rode great. I would highly recommend them for any budget build.

Bilsteins run about 100 a pop.
Monroes go for 20-30 bucks depending on application. I used to watch for Pep Boys sales. They had a special for 14 each a couple of years ago.
