Well today i decided to give lowerin a shot.. so i re-index the front torsions by 3 teeth, and flipped the ball joints, took out the bump stops (for now) and moved the shocks up a bit. now i forgot to measure before and after, but it is exactly 1 foot from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fenders on stock rims/tires.

So the problem ive got now is the shocks are bottoming out within 3 or less inches of travel, and without the shocks its about 4.. so is there any other solution other than new shocks, raising it? I was thinking index the torsions back to stock and crank the hell out them, so the suspension is stiffer, so less chance of it bottoming out?

stock shocks will go out quick

I bought some shocks for a 87 model Isuzu for the front ( not sure what all years work but I know 1987 does) from O'Reilly's for about $14 bucks each and they're holding up great. Alot shorter. I didn't have to do anything to the mount other than trim it so the upper control arm doesn't hit it.

Sorry if I sound stupid, I've only had my Mazda for a few days now, But is the shock setup on these trucks anything like a Nissan? I know Nissans you can use pinto shocks? I have a set and wondering if I can use them on the B

yup the have the eylet on bottom ant the shaft on the top...same as a nissan

Well if thats the case, Mid-Late 70s Pinto shocks are cheap and VERY short, Would work very well!
