i have been researching about adding a big brake kit to my mazda since i am running 22's. i have come up with this idea and i would like some feedback. what about using a newer fullsize chevy/gmc/cadillac spindle/hub/rotor/caliper assembly? i realize i would need a different mastercylinder/booster and more than likely new uca and lca. i am gonna measure the centerline of my bj's to wms and then do the same on my neighbors 07 chevy ext cab f/s tomorrow night and see what i come up with. i'll post when i get some numbers running around.
they make big brakes for toyotas...
ARE THEY 6 LUG BIG BRAKE KITS?
i was looking in an older magazine and they had a 2500 chevy that had a brembo big brake kit... im sure you could retro fit it on there... although i dont know how much customizing you would need... and go with hydroboost for brake boosting and maybe a tandem master cylinder from wilwood oh yeah that would be good lol.... anyways good luck with your findings man...
I WAS THINKING OF GONG WITH A UNDERFRAME BOOSTER FROM WILWOOD IF IT CAME TO THAT... I DIDNT HAVE POWER STEERING IN THE MAZDA AND I'M NOT GOING TO SWAP P/S INTO THE MAZDA SO THE HYDROBOOST IS OUT OF THE QUESTION
There making big brake kits for mazda's
yeah... i have seen those on the forums... but i'm trying to save a little money and reuse stock components... not spend 1400.00. i'm thinking i can get it done for less than 700.00. if i can do that then i'll do a tech write up and share the wealth.
