getting a new old car,need help

ya thats cool, i'm sure someones had that prob and knows what it is

most time its a vaccum leak,or the idle control valve being dirty, or air pocket in the cooling system. check for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold and make sure you burp the air out the coolant system and check the iac vavle its on the back of the intake manifold. it has 2 bolts in it with 2 coolant lines going to it. unbolt it and clean it with carb and choke cleaner, put it back on or you can replace it.

does bring up an engine light?
get the car scanned for codes that might help narrow down the problem

and i tryed the iacs valve cleaned it and it worked for maybe 5mins and then started again

so It worked right after it was cleaned then messed up again?
sounds like ya found the problem, if its dirty again or loose?
