most time its a vaccum leak,or the idle control valve being dirty, or air pocket in the cooling system. check for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold and make sure you burp the air out the coolant system and check the iac vavle its on the back of the intake manifold. it has 2 bolts in it with 2 coolant lines going to it. unbolt it and clean it with carb and choke cleaner, put it back on or you can replace it.

get the car scanned for codes that might help narrow down the problem

if you want some good info. you can go to honda-tech.com and check out the 92-00 civic section. they have a FAQ section. you can find all the info you want on your car there and other shit. admins if you want you can delete this i only putting it up to help our fellow bscener.

ya im a member of honda-tech and theres a lot of info but nothing go's in to depply about anything
and i tryed the iacs valve cleaned it and it worked for maybe 5mins and then started again
