Actually you had a D16y8 1.6 litre vetec motor. With that ECU thats about it. But you can fit a
B16,B18,B20, B series is dual overhead cam, D16, D15 D series singel overhead cam. It just takes a wireing change or ecu change not to hard on a honda. If i were you just get another D16y8 they can be had for around 500 or so with less than 60k on them. Just thought this would help.

Honda. . .

. . . yawn. . .

no offense. . .

Do you live in a state that doesn't expect or test for EPA emission compliance?

My opinion, as a technician, is the easiest, cheapest, way to get your new old car mobile again is to dump the same rubber band in it that it came with from the factory.

Maybe Honda's came with squirrels that year. . .if that is the case. . .

hamsters are really hard to fit into the same cage.

v tec and iVTEC are the different engines now
more recently the honda engines pretty well all use variable timing tech to be more efficient.

right,i know theres a lot of motors out there that will work...if i do the work to put them in, what im asking is like our trucks there is more then one motor..i.e. a 2.0 and a 2.2 that can run off the same ecu and harness, maybe even the 1.8(not to sure on that one) so what im asking is what motors will go in an i dont have to do anything but bolt the fucker in,it had a 1.6 yes, vtec or nonvtec i dont give a shit, but will any thing else out of something else just go right in, im not asking about a tuner swap, its not going to go fast ,its going to drag down the highway... ....ok let me put it this way what will it take to put the motor out of a si in it, if its not the si model,or tell me what it takes to put said motor in the car and i will try to find out what one i like more!....but remember i dont have the car yet so i dont know what model it is...he said its the base model but i want to be sure befor buying a motor,so im trying to find out what it takes for the different motors out there

its a honda....more like a feret in a hamster ball...lol

okay , but an SI will be a vtec and the ECM is different, the best/ easiest thing to do would be find a wrecked one same body style, and take everything, for in depth info check out the ricer forums and search the engine swap articles, I have found some good info that way before, sorry kinda the wrong tree to bark up round here it would seem, lol

What I got from it was make damn sure ya get a non hacked wiring harness, and the ECM, and try to find one with few miles as possible, something gramma smashed not some ricers hacked leftover turd.

Best o luck I think draggin a civic would be fun!!

I wont ever talk shit bout Hondas they bin good to me, my buddys got the only S2000 in town and its awesome smokin the tires slidin sideways, in my books thats cool.

yeh I think minitruckers are the most talented and gutsy hot rodders out there, its ok to try other things so long as we're keepin it real.
Never leaving the scene totally even if we lose our trucks somehow
