windows 7

well I downloaded Win 7 Ultimate and Oops, it won't upgrade from My Vista Home Premium.... Dern it, I really don't know if I want to take all the programs off and re install them again.

ive been wondering about windows 7. i absolutely hate vista. i have since i opened my laptop for the first time.

visa sucks balls. it came with this sony vaio laptop that i use everyday. its slow loading and when you like to multitask (multi internet windows and games [as i do alot]) it bogs down bad. i hate it. my buddy just recently got a free upgrade through windows web site and so far hes liking it alot better. hope to do the upgrade soon....

Does anyone know the going rate for buying the new 7 software and having it installed and stuff?

idk about getting it installed or anything. but i know its super easy to install yourself, and the software itself is i think around $100.

well when it comes to computers im one of the people that wants to take my laptop to somebody and say " here it is. i want this on it and i dont wanna lose anything i have now. Just make it work haha"

just loaded windows 7 on my laptop tonight and within the first hour of using it i'm amazed at how awesome it is. it really makes vista look like the biggest piece of crap ever made.

so how are all you guys just gettin this and uploading it? how much are you payin for it? do you get to keep all your old files and such or do you have to make like a recovery disk and swap it all over?

i got it using a college student deal, for $30, for Windows 7 Professional 64bit. and for installing it, its super easy. you can buy it from a store, or online. then if you buy it online from microsoft, you can download it straight from them, or have them send you a disc in the mail. i prefer using a disc. once you have one, you put it into your cd-rom. and just follow the instructions. you can keep all your old files, and have a better running pc. i have only played around with it a little bit though, i haven't had enough free time to really do anything on it yet since its not my main operating system, but just a virtual computer on my hard drive.

i got a free upgrade with my computer and i didnt lose anything when i uploaded it.
