Little update

Haven't really been around here much lately. Been quietly browsing a bit anonymously just seeing whats up and such.

I still haven't made my way out west yet, as all sorts of financial hurdles are holding me back, but I was about to begin training for my CDL licence in the next few weeks. I just got my medical done and I need to write my airbrake test and begin driver training which is 2 weeks. Once that's done with and my licence is aquired, I was then going to go out west and hopefully get a trucking job out there.

I've been unemployed since mid December and not really looking for work because there isn't much around here, and since I'm on EI, I figured I'd stay on it til I move out west and find a job there.

However, this morning I was out running some errands and I came home to a message on my answering machine. It was the temp agency telling me to call them back. So I called them and they asked me what was up and I just said I was still unemployed, but planning to get my CDL licence and moving out west.

She said "oh, so then you wouldn't be interested in going back to JCI?"

As soon as she said that I was like "Hellllll yesssss! When can I start?!"

To fill you in, I used to work there for about 2 years, and they build the seats for the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger/Challenger. I love the job, and always told them, after being layed off twice due to cut back that I would come back any time.

Tomorrow I have to call to confirm I can start Monday. Hopefully everything works out and I can get back in there. If I do, my plan is to work there til their 2 week July shut down. This way I can pay off some bills and save up some more money to move. During that 2 week downtime, I can do my CDL driver training, and when that's done, hopefully I can be out west around August.

It's good that I was offered this job right now, but at the same time I'm kinda kicking myself because I'm weeks away from moving and getting on with my life. I've been planning to move since November, and now I'm delayed nearly a year now.

Oh well, it'll pay off. So just figured I'd drop in and let you guys know whats up and shout out to all my Bscene Bitchez!

Good to hear from ya man. You need to update your sig with Kermit and the B4000. Kool on the job offer. You know I used to never be a firm believer in fate but lately I have to admit things seem to happen for a reason. I am sure good things will happen for you as you are a good person. Keep us updated.

2008 was such an awful year for me. Absolutely nothing went right and everything in my life just fell apart.

So far, this year has turned around a lot and with some motivation now, I'm making things happen that I want to happen. However today's phone call was a nice surprise.

Thats kool you got your job back. Sounds like a better start to the year!!!

I have to go to an orientation tomorrow and should be starting on Monday. I'm not sure how many positions are available, but hopefully I can get dibs to go back and work on the Rear Seat Line again where I spent the majority of my time working in the past.

I was offered the position because a bunch of full time workers have quit and taken severance packages, now opening up a bunch of positions on the line. The contract with Chrysler runs out at the end of the year, so if the company doesn't get a new contract, the plant will close, or if another company takes over, they'll keep the current staff, but cut their wages. They currently make $16-25/hr if you're a fulltime line worker.
