I LOVE CRAIGSLIST!!!!!

i was browsing craigslist earlier today and saw an ad for a 99 honda accord for 600.00. it said it had a bad engine... so i called the person and asked what the cheapest they would take would be... she said 450.00. so after i got off the phone with her i called my grandmother and asked to borrow 300.00 and told her why. i hadn't seen the car but didn't think it could be that bad.... well she gave me the cash so i went and finally saw the accord. OMFG ... ITS CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a 120k mile engine and freshly rebuilt tranny in my wifes old 2000 accord that was totalled by the ins. company when it got stolen.
so i will be swapping the 2000 engine into the 99 accord and have me a new daily driver!

so now the driveway is:
87 mazda b2000 std. cab (for sale... 1200.00 o.b.o)
90 mazda b2200 std. cab (all22s)
90 mazda b2200 ext. cab (waiting on title then engine swap from 90 b2200 std. cab, then selling it)
92 mazda b2600i ext. cab (sitting on 22's as well and is my current daily driver)
2000 honda accord lx (ins. totalled but everything is still mechanically/electrically sound)
1999 honda accord lx (the new soon to be daily driver)
1998 honda accord ex (the wifes daily driver to replace the 2000 which was stolen)

** and i am still on the hunt for more mazda trucks.... i was at a junk yard yesterday looking for a std. cab bed and saw a long bed only... then looked up into the stack of crushed cars/trucks... i saw 4 mazda trucks crushed to a pulp (recognized the bumpers)**

its a damn shame that all of our beloved trucks are either being crushed in the junkyards or exported for little or nothing overseas.

well i got the car home a lil while ago. tried to start it up after charging the battery.... no go... so i pulled the valve cover to see the condition of the engine (pretty nice!!!!) then pulled the plugs and they were all fouled out by too much fuel.....so i swapped the ones from the 2000 accord parts car i have and they were mint.... so i put them in the 99 and it fired up but had to be kept over 2k on the tach to run... if you let off the gas it dies......
i pulled one of the newer plugs out and it looked like the others.... so something is making the injectors pour fuel into the cylinder. i'm gonna swap fuel rails and injectors in a little while and see if that works. i did swap out the driver door window regulator and installed the glass back in the door. i got power windows now!
so get the einging running correctly and then swap the radiator... supposedly it has a leak as well.
good thing is that when i did have the engine running it fired off perfectly.... alot of black smoke but none the less ran damn good... no missing or anything..... it's either bad rings or too much fuel is making the plugs foul out. they smelled like gas so i'm leaning towards a bad injector or injectors.
i'll keep you guys posted. i kinda feel bad that i got it working in 30 minutes what this lady couldn't get done by an "ase" mechanic in 5 weeks!
oh well... her loss my gain!
