I hear ya man. I have been through a lot with my oldest as well. Not quite 8 1/2 yrs but kidnapped by her drugged out mother for about 3 months...hardest time of my life.

To know you have a kid out there and that you can't be a part of their life must be the most crushing feeling in the world.

My parents seperated when I was 3,and growing up and only got to see my dad twice a month from the time I was 3 to 17.

Now that we don't have set visitation times, its hard for us to spend time together. My dad is a genuine down to earth guy and I don't know why my mom ever cheated on him and left...which btw,the guy she cheated on him with has now been my step dad for the last 19 years.

I've never spent enough time with my dad and never will be able to spend enough time with him. I try as often as I can,but I'll be lucky if it's once a month...or once every couple months. He's never been as big a part of my life as I would have liked him to be, and though he's been with me to watch me grow up, my dad has never felt like a father figure or a parent to me...he's been kind of...I dunno...more like an Uncle. I don't know,it's hard to explain.

I hope one day you get the chance to see your daughter. But enjoy every day you've got with the kids you have. The most important part is that she's on your mind and you know she's out there,somewhere.

Man if you ever need to talk or just even bitch about the ex...call. I have had ppl be there for me and am always one to pay it forward. Especially to friends and family (well some family the rest of them don't acknowledge my existance).

I built my dawg with some help from lance
