Yeah, and what other college does your rep have a myspace? Haha mine does. I cannot wait to go, seriously. I never got calls back from UTI, I requested information once and a rep called me before I even got the info, haha.

In all honesty, I'd rather go to the official school of the NHRA (Wyotech) than the official school of ASSCAR (UTI).

I feel sorry for those of you that went to UTI and didn't get shit out of it. Seriously. It's sickening how some colleges think they can just do that shit to you for so much money.

It all comes down to this... which school has grads on tv shows? Wyotech. Watch extreme 4x4 on Spike TV, that hot ass girl Jesse Combs went to Wyotech.

My parents have told me that they've told some of the people they know about me enrolling in Wyotech and they've had nothing but good things to say. Mom went to bike week this weekend and told some people she met (guys that build some sick ass bikes) and they said I was lucky to get to go. Wyotech is ALOT more picky with their possible students.

I even got free tickets to the NHRA event this past Saturday because I enrolled at Wyotech. That is fucking cool. I brought along two of my friends that are possible students and we got treated like kings, no joke. VIP passes and everything. I didnt have my tickets easily accessible when we went to sit at the bleachers and was wearing my Wyotech hat and backpack and the guy was like "Oh it's alright guys you're with Wyotech."

I'm currently going to Southeast Community College in Milford NE for Auto Collision, a lot of the students and teachers here don't like wyotech on the fact that when it really comes down to getting a job is there more of a demand for doing custom work that you will learn at wyotech and doing those custom jobs don't pay near as much then doing collision repairs that i'm learning how to fix.
I've been at SCC for a year now and have 6 months until i graduate. They still let me put suicide doors on my mazda and shave everything but i'm having to do the suspension work at my house. the tuition is 6 grand and i spent 5 grand on tools and paint guns that are mine to keep they they give us a 50 percent discount, it's VERY affordable, they got me so i'm a certified painter, i'm an i-car certified welder, and i never took out any student loans so once i graduate i can start saving. they find 90+% graduate placement rating, and even after i get a job I can always go back to the school and they'll help me find another. there's 12 kids in my class and were working on customers cars or our own projects 5 hours everyday.

if you want me to post pictures of some of the things we've done/worked on/learned i'd be willing to show you.

The custom stuff is the reason I'm going to Wyotech. In the street rod and custom class you get to learn suspension geometry and all that jazz, learn how to install/plumb air ride, suicide doors, chop tops, install glass, airbrush, fiberglass, mig and tig weld all kinds of crazy stuff.

Honestly, if there was a college near me that wouldn't require me moving I would just stay here and go to a community college. But I would have to move anyways, so why not go to Wyotech?

Wyotech costs 25,700, and it's 9 months... 6 for the basics (in my case Collision & Refinishing) and then 3 months for the Street Rod and custom. It's alot but there's just about every financial aid plan in the book that you can use.

I probably won't go into general body repair unless the custom stuff just won't work. I was thinking about relocating to Charlotte, NC after I graduate because there's lots of people in South Charlotte that have nice custom cars.

I've already made out some plans with my rep (he's a great guy) about possibilities for where I want to relocate and I have a good bit of options.
I think the major factor about Wyotech is that classes are roughly 50 hours a week. That's a good bit.

It sucks that UTI is how it is. In all honesty, it's good to go to college no matter what for or for how long.

My girlfriends mom thinks that I separated from my girlfriend because I'm going to Wyotech. She wouldn't understand though... my girlfriends mom or dad didn't go to college and they're in their 40's making $15 bucks an hour.

i went to the local auto tech class here. $5000 and i didn't learn nuthin! they had me doin oil changes and alignments all day. i was pretty pissed.

my buddy has a shop and he can fabricate, build hot motors, body work, but he mostly does repairs for people. never went to class a day in his life and he is damn good at what he does. i'm just gonna hang out at his place more cuz i learn somethin everytime i'm there.

Burdaddy, that will work out great for you if you apply yourself (not saying you won't). I know the owner of a local bodyshop here. It's the biggest in this town and he never gets business. It's because he does halfassed work and didn't go to college or even finish highschool. When I told him I was going to Wyotech, he had the nerve to be a rudeass total douche and tell me "Good Luck!" Having someone tell me that completely wore away at me, but then I found out he never went to college and just learned from some other douche.

I was thinking about going to wyotech a few years back and I'm kinda glad I did'nt go. There's a kid who used to hang around with us that went to the Wyoming wyotech. I think he took autobody/refinishing, welding an I don't remember what else, but when he came back I seen some of his work and it was god awful especially his welding(I think my sister could weld better than him). Like thebeaumartin said save your money. Your guys local colleges don't offer any kind of classes like uti or wyotech?

None that aren't at least 150+ miles away. It's not Wyotech's fault he couldn't weld. Seriously.

Im sitting in class at wyotech right now. I take collision/refinishing and I signed up for chassis fab. I can honestly say it is a waste of money. If you don't know a damn thing about cars than it may help you get into a shop at a low position but other than that it is a waste. The classes are too big, the whole program is rushed. I can look around my class of 40+ people and at least 75% feel ripped off in some way. If you can get in with a good shop and work your way up, you'll learn better and faster and get paid. Instead of paying to learn. PM if you have any more ??s
