Ok here's the dilly, this kid I know want's me to install some lambo door's on his ride. Vehicle of choice a Isuzu Rodeo. The thing I'd like to know is what do some place's charge to do this cause no place does this kind of stuff around here? And btw this my first lambo.
DONT DO IT!! haha, jks man, to each his own, butIMO the world would be a better place with out them... any way, i know of a guy around here that does them and he says about 1000 a door, done properly... bolt on kit or kustom kit??
we have several people and or shops around here that install them here... if its abolt on or a custom kit will effect the price.. not telln you what to do but if this is something you would like to do and it also being a demo vehicle for ya then you could use it to showcase your work and talent around here they wont touch ur doors for under a grand each... and then if you do find sum1 that says they will do it cheaper the work looks like dogg shit and the door either wont open or it opens and dont close right ... if you start doin this all the time you can make great money out of it..... my buddy Kyle D. the owner of Guilty by Design here n town makes a ass load of these doors and suicide as well good luck bro n whatever decission you make....
It's supposed to be a weld in kit but I'd prefer to make it a partial bolt in setup. No it's not a demo vehicle, but I will take a ton of pics on this project. I don't have a shop although I'd like to have one eventually, a friend and me are going to tackle this project. The shop that was supposed to do it had drug their ass on a bunch of the owners previous work so he pulled it from them. Not only that I've seen the said shop owners welds and they look like caca. Thanks for the input fellas.
ugh..lambos on a Rodeo of all vehicles...
I can hear my poor old Rodeo turning over in it;s grave right now.
just do alot of home work and make sure it is a quility kit saying nothing of you or your customer friend but alot of people think buying a $300.00 kit is great and honestly I think spending some good cash on a quility kit is half the battle seen to many guys go cheap and end up having as you said caca as the end product. Good luck either way you decide.
yeah...the install is only as good as the product you're using,no matter how good your fab skills are.
Well, unless you want to invest some serious r&d time into it to make it better...
but your time is customer time, and that's $$$,and that's what nobody wants to spend.
We finally got that behotch done, except for a couple of small details like having to find or make pockets/vents to cover the hinge half that sticks out through the fender. Two of the 4 weeks were B.S.ing with the company and research trying to find out where to put the bulky ass hinges. Talk about a PITA, I don't know if I wan't to do this shit again. I'll put up pictures tomorrow after I get them on the computer.
Not a big fan of the ol lambo either... However here are some on a mazda. This guy is from Sweden. I forget all the details but I know it is boosted. Seen the lambo and thought about this truck.
I havent seen a lambo kit that didnt eventually turn to shit yet. Each and EVERY one I see....either the door warps, or the body buckles under the fender. I have NOT seen 1 yet, that is used regularly on a daily that lasts more than a year. I think its not bad for SHOW ONLY, even tho its played like a Bourbon Street Whore now a days.
