my daughter is going to be racing these...

a friend of my dads has 2 quarter midgets and my dad has been hounding me for about 2 yrs on getting my oldest daughter into it. so i started looking a little more into it and we are going to let her do it. she is 7 yrs old now and will probably start this month or next. 1 of the cars he has hasn't even been put on the track yet. the other car his 11 yr old races. here is a pic of the cars. these aren't his cars but what they look like.

Awesome. i bet your daughter will love it!

Good luck with that. My 12 yr. old son races go-karts. He won his points championship this past year. It was his first full year of racing.

badass man. i doubt we will race every race though. i think it will just be fun for her to do. i don't care if she wins or loses i just think she will have a blast.

The first year he was learning. Last year I think it was more hard on me as the "crew chief" to keep us in front than it was on him as the driver. Toward the end of the year I was concerned with him winning the points.

After we had this one in the bag I explained to him that this year we were going to do it for fun rather than points.

Those look fun. Never seen any that small before. What do they use for engines?

My son's kart uses a 5 hp Briggs. Basically LOOKS like a tiller engine, but makes about 9 hp. Billet rod, runs on alcohol, custom ground cam, etc. etc. etc.

north ga has a mini track for go carts and other small engine cars.... the kids parents would fist fight just about every weekend... got to the point of where i stoped going because it was out of control.... and the older racers would fight on the track.... may of just been a redneck thing..... hope you have better luck with it.....

i have no idea what kind of engines man. i know very little about the cars themselves. i am not much into oval track racing but it all looks safe enough and my daughter is excited about it so i am stoked for her.

personally i like road courses and 1/4 mile races. but she is to little for any of that. haha.

a friend of mine raced go-karts when we were in grade school. but when you get older it all turns into a money thing. who has more money for the sport, not necessarily who can drive better.
