I was just at Napa trying to get the hub dust caps... sure, nothing to do with this, but when he was trying to look up the size, he mentioned the aerostar uses the same p/n on the outer bearing... for whatever that's worth.

ahh but what year? I looked up a 91 and the bearing is close but not close enough they were two different part numbers from 91 van and 86-93 mazda

86-as long as they were still RWD show the same bearing numbers

maybe he was wrong. I kinda was thinking they didn't change anything in those years. Just relaying what i was told.

okay I have given up on the yota thing. After talking to mikey, and seeing the aerostar hub I realized it's the best bet for ease. the hub is about the same depth, it just pushes the rotor back and looks like the dust shield would have to be tossed

now for some findings... the early aerostars use a unitized hub/rotor setup they list a inner bearing that is a I.D.:1.25"
O.D.:2.328"
and width of .625"

now mazda inners measure
I.D.:1.375"
O.D.:2.563"


BUT!
94 mazda b2300 2wd list the same exact rotor/hub combo, and use the same inner bearing as the 86-93 six lug hub

so now I see that the bearing race/outer cone plays a big part in this riddle.

last piece to solve is converting the outer

mazda specs(86-93)
I.D.:.984"
O.D.:2.047"


94 mazda/aerostar
I.D.:.75"
O.D.:1.781"


so anyone please feel free to help exhaust any resource to fit the last piece of the puzzle

yes!!!.... I need some more brownie points.

the wifes rig dumped a starter today so I have to get it at the parts store tomorrow along with the 5 lug hubs. I'm hoping to be able to play with some bearings there, but not sure how much time I will have to devote to this. I can't get her to buck up and just drive my car for a couple of days so we can get a cheaper starter

Just a thought, if the mazda bearings are a little bigger, why not just machine out the toyota hub to fit the mazda bearings. it would keep a greater strength integrity to the spindle. You can also go to the Timken web site and if you go under the products section and select catalogs, it gives you bearing applications for almost every part of any car or truck. they also have a bearing spec catalog that would give you the dimensions of the bearings. and also if you go to the autozone website, you can look up brake rotors under specific vehicles and they have the dimensions of the rotors on the pictures. About a month ago,i put a set of 20's on a 76 Widebody Porshe that had a Mercedes bolt pattern. I got adapters for the rear, but put redrilled 68 mustang hubs on the front with mercedes rotors so everything would fit. Anything can be done, just gotta do your homework.
