id get a metal one. . . not plascic. . . And you'll need an electric fuel pump that pumps enough pressure for your truck. . . I dont know much more than that. . .

will the factory one fit in the hole they provide? I have an electric one so im prolly gonna have to get one with a sending unit in it already but i have no clue.

if its carb'd, you can use the mechanical pump. . if it has an in the tank pump, you'll have to get a new pump

Just like Josh said, if you are running a carb'd engine then the mechanical pump will be fine. If it is fuel injected then you will need to get an inline pump that will meet the fuel pressure specs of that engine...

Again, like Josh said get an aluminum fuel cell! Don't waste your time with the plastic ones.

Another thing to think about is what gauges you are going to use. If you are using the stock gauges and get a fuel cell with a GM sending unit your gauge will read backward, full=empty & empty =full. But if you are going to run aftermarket gauges make sure you get a GM 0-90ohm compatible gauge.

I would recommend getting a foam filled cell, to prevent sloshing which can be dangerous. Also might want to find one with a sump of some sort, makes it a bit easier on the mechanical pump.

You don't need a fuel cell with a fitting bigger than -8AN which is most common. If you can find one with -6AN outlets I would scoop it up, but chances are slim. As far as gallon size, I wouldn't go bigger than 15 gallon tank, but that is just my two cents..

Hope that helps..

Do you have a stock tank now? Didn't know of any carbd models with an electric fuel pump. The mechanical fuel pump is locate on the side of the engine head between the intake manifold and the firewall.

Same here...

Not really sure what input to give on that!
