Well life sucks sometimes, Yesterday I traded in my very-much loved 05 Ram on a 08 New Beetle for my wife, Now i'll be driving the Civic every day. I drive 80 miles a day and the gas was killn me! I hated to see it go, but the wife loves her new Triple white Beetle! Well atleast I still have my Mazda, and one day very soon Ill be driving it, Im putting as much of my system from the Dodge in the Mazda as will fit and then it will finaly have some toons! Thanks for lettn me ramble, but it was this or cry! lol Now time to go work on the Mazda so Im not stuck in the Civic every day!
sorry to hear dude!!! gas is a killer these days. im really glad my everyday is an 90 1.6l corolla. just an extra bit to take the sting out of you having to trade the ram in. well i worked for their partner company who makes their front ends and they are built with shit materials and cheep weld wire, the ram scrapes the bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality. the guys i worked with who had rams all hated them and had to fix the shit out of them. my bro has a 04 inline powered colarado and it hasnt had any work yet. (knock on wood) ive seen the new fronts for the 09 ram and when compared to the older rams its night and day. its good that you traded it in b4 truck lose their value even more.
im not hating on you for having it, just hating on the rams and adding my .02 $
If you think your gas prices suck, here in Toronto regular is at $1.35 a liter which works out to $5.11 a gallon. We've been paying over $4.00 a gallon for over a year. I don't know why its such a big story in the US when gas hit over $4.00 when well over half the world has been paying that for so long.
Not to take away from your situation, I know how it feels. Right now me and my girlfriend have an 02 Envoy, 01 GMC Sierra and the 93 Mazda. We find ourselves taking the Mazda when ever we can to save a few bucks on gas.
OH, 1 US gallon = 3.78541178 Liter's
as much as i hate paying that at the pump everyday, i am so glad my daily drivers are a 72 Datsun 1200 and a 64 Datsun 320. but when it comes to the tow pig, i drive a '98 Dodge Ram V10 so lets just say im not making it to as many shows this year as i wanted to. as much as i hate hondas, i would so much rather drive one everyday than a ram. i would go broke.
I feel ya Kez.... I sold my much loved '99 Chevy 3/4 ton crew cab in April this year because I just couldn't stomach the 12 mpg, and that was even before gas hit the $4 mark.
My Maz gets a little over 21 in town and 26 or so on the highway, so I think I'm in decent shape now, albeit downsized.
yeah but sierraX your dollar is worth more now, so that makes sense why they've got canadians paying more. I'm not gonna fret about gas I just traded our town&country van for a 02 bravada. our town is small enough we can walk anywhere if it comes down to it.
$4 a gallon is quit a bit for America to handle. I'm betting the life is different than Canada. You also gotta factor in the way the economy is going as well...
Think about it. With a vehicle that gets 20 mpg, say a truck. And the tank is 15 gallons. That comes to 300 miles a tank. The average person drives 15,000 miles a year.
Thats about 41 miles a DAY. Which means the avg person has to fill their rig up about every week! Now, if you gotta fill your vehicle up EVERY week thats going to cost the avg person $120 per check because they usually get a bi-weekly check.
..Now, factor in whether or not they make car payments, and they have insurance, maintainence cost, as well as pay for luxuries like cable, internet, etc. House payments, taxes, GROCERIES. Lets not forget that is impacted because of truckers having to pay MORE at the pump too.
The average person has an annual income of about $20-30k. Break that down and you will see that there is'nt much fudge room. People can still manage to get everything accomplished in a day and all. But there is less and less play money. And soon, none at all...
That concludes today's lesson in macro-economics!
Gas doesn't bug me too much. Its something I need, so I deal with it. I'm just thankful my truck gets the kind of mileage it does. It costs me $60 to fill my truck up, with a 12 gallon tank. We're at nearly $5 a gallon here. I don't drive if I don't have to. And if I have to run errands, I wait and make a list of everything I need to do in the area. It just makes you stop and think.
yup, shit sucks! i have an 02 ram that gets 8-9 in town, and 12-13 hwy. love the truck hate the mpg's. the wife drives a 91 aerostar, and i drive the maz EVERYWHERE!2 weeks on a tank aint too bad!
