My first B2000 (an '87) was sitting in my brother's yard for 2 years as an incomplete project. I got it for $5 when he sold his house and had to move the truck. Spent about $700 getting it back on the road... only to find out the headgasket was dying.
My second B2000 (an '86) cost me $280 and it was going to be the parts truck for my '87. That one suffered a catastrophic il leak and the engine practically seized. It's currently sitting in my driveway taking up space.
The third B2000 (an '86) I'm looking at is going for an inspection tomorrow or Friday. The guy wants $700 but if the inspection is good I'm going to offer him $500 simply because it needs a new windshield, fenders, seats and the bed has some nice holes in it.
These are all 5spd, no frills, cheap transportation for my reno business I have on the side... so I'm hoping I can write off the repairs as business expenses.
Cheers !!
