well i bought my first mazda because i had an 89 s-10 with a small block in it. needless to say after a night of proving it could do better dougnuts then my co-workers i needed a tranny. was waiting for a specific tranny and needed something to drive. one of my co-workers said he had a beater mazda for 250 bucks that needed a head gasket. clock read over 300k and hadnt worked in 4 years. so there is no telling how many was actually on it. didnt even check the head or anything. put a headgasket on it and bam she fired right up and ran like a champ. ive been hooked ever since and have owned 4 in total.

i like them the best cuz they come equiped with the best forum in the world.

My mom had just given me her 98 3000GT (gift at age 17 because she bought a new BMW Z4). I sold my first car, a 92 Buick Le Sabre ("gift" from dad at age 16 because he bought a new Cadillac DeVille), which I made a surf rack for. So I went to the surf shop to buy a rack for my new car, it was $350 so I paid for it and they put it on order. They called me up and said it was no longer made and I was SOL so I went and got a refund. Started surfin ebay and found my black mazda for $450. It was fucked up in the front end but I didnt care because I just needed it for surf transportation. I learned to drive 5 speed on it. I did a tune up on it and flogged it everytime I drove it and it held up great. I did a couple little things to it, like new wheels (06 chevy colorado for $100 with tires) with good tires cause the tires that were on it were bald and a little system. I started liking the Mazda a lot so I decided to look for one with a good body that I could put my engine in and I did. Its red and Ive been workin on it off and on from last fall to now and its almost running.

EDIT: i guess the moderators replaced f***ed with silly

Bought Kermit in March 2006 for $1800.

I was looking to buy a new car or truck at the time, but wasn't able to get financing or a cosigner. I had $5000 saved up for a down payment on a new car when a friend of mine asked if he knew anyone that woul d be interested in his B2200 for $2000. I thought "hmmm,I always liked the look of these trucks and I've been wanting to do up a truck for a while...:

The rest is history. Cash swapped hands and I've never driven another vehicle that puts such a big smile on my face every time I drive it.

bought it in 92' for $5000 (I think) In Kentucky It was Baby blue pink strips 15X10 solid aluminum wheels with pink Knock offs..... Got some Polaroid’s of it some where. Over the years its had 4 paint jobs 4 or 5 sets of wheels at at least. A buddy of mine had a 86 b2000 static dropped as low as possible back in 87' fell in love with the look. This is the only truck i have kept over the years.

my dad leased my truck back in 92 (i was 12) for the bussiness he had, i loved it since the day he brought it home, i always washed it, changed the oil, and did all the little things to it, when the lease was almost up in 95 he asked me if he should keep it, i said yes in a heart beat, and bugged him for weeks about it, not because it was such a good truck to him but i was less then a year away to get my licence and i would be driving it, a few weeks pass by, me and my dad were getting in to the truck and started backing out of the driveway and my dad suddenly stopped the truck and said " hey, check what the licence plates say i dont remember what they were", so i get out and look, and they were new plates i jump back in the truck and asked " did u buy it? he said ya i guess i did,

when i got my licence i drove it every chance i got, i couldnt do any mods to it cuz my dad still drove it too, when i got a co-op placement at a stereo shop i needed the truck (1998), so while i was there, i had the windows tinted alarm and p/w installed, dad knew the truck was slipping out of his hands lol then i blew up the rear end in it and my dad forked over 600$ to fix it, then the fuel pump went in it, dad said "ok im buying a new car the truck is yours now but i still need it when i need to haul stuff around a couple weeks later he bought a honda cr-v, the day he brought it home was the day i ordered my lowering kit, 2 days later it was shit canned, dad took it one day to take some stuff to my brothers house and threw out his back driving the truck it was so bumpy i wake up that afternoon and my mom told me what happend then i walk out to the garage and was confronted by my dad giving me shit about what i did to the truck and how he hurt himself, since that day he has never sat in it, he thinks ive ruined a good truck i just tell him ive made it better

but now its an addiction, this one is my first and ive had 8 others, i love the way they look, there easy to work on, easy to lower, and i already know these trucks inside and out

heres what it looked like when it was new:
