Head Light upgrade

H4s are the way to go. Install in like 5 minutes and instant upgraded lighting. Visibility at night is literally miles better. Money well spent on both cosmetics and safety.

HID in a housing designed for a regular bulb is crap...you can get square housing lamps that are designed for an HID bulb that work great but they are really expensive and you do loose your high beam. And proper H4 housings with good bulbs wil do just as good if not better than the ranger lghts in ouput.

i have the h4 setup and i know sorta what your talkin about (city light holders) but what is a city light?

A city light is a european thing. Because the streets in europe are very narrow in some cities it is the law that you must leave on your city parking lights when you park.... They are designewd to be left on overnight so people know there is a car there.

that is sweet as hell. im assuming these are low drawing lights that do not drain the battery. and gravity i sent you another pm when you get time to reply.

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of H-4 housings for a reasonable price (ones which I can change the light bulbs?)

I have started looking around my small town but to no avail.

Good ones will run you about 100 bucks...and that is with basic bulbs..

I found some Housings by Hella I can order in locally for $66 each.

I guess I will splurge on them. Night driving will be nicer and it will help safety

I will be re-doing the wiring to the headlights also.

All this talk of doing the Ranger light swap, and I can't find a pic of it done on a 2nd gen anywhere. Anybody have any pics of the Ranger swap done? I'm looking into buying a 91 reg cab short bed and am always up for a cool AND functional swap. Thanks!
