Home projects and repair, sheet metal auto body work, farm and small shop welding â€
let me know how you like that welder i sold my hobart welder to buy a welder i could use gas with.. and the one you got is one that i was looking at
Whattya know? I got the SAME one today! I've been looking EVERYHWERE to get the best deal for a lincoln welder and Lowes had the best deal! $457 for everything except gas! That is an UNBELIEVABLE deal!
Just gotta buy my bottle, shield, gloves, slag hammer, brush, etc. and then make a cart! I'll still be under the amount it would take buying from someone else so I'm happy!
I got REALLY pissed off though. I went to spool on the flux core wire and I let go of the end an it all ended up on the ground in a big mess! Thats like throwing away a $20 bill...
One thing I do not like about this welder is that it is not the T or C series 140. The voltage knob is not infinite adjust like the wire speed... Ebay is selling these welders at $500 something at the cheapest without a cart!
Go to LOWES! Lincoln welders are at the top of their game. GET ONE!
congrats on the new welder I am on my way on getting the 180c lincoln 220 mig welder as it has the hook up for the allumnium spoil gun and it can do stainless as well. I am also going for the miller tig welder but that will be later this summer.
All I got is a lincoln 225 AC/DC stick, hehe.
Right now i have a chicago dual 131 mig welder its a 110, then i got the 151 mig welder and it's a 220 and the 220 arch welder it's mastercraft one.
haha. thats cool. i went to harbor freight the other day and got an auto darkening helmet my gloves, slag hammer, brush, some magnets a 90 degree clamp and a few other things. it came up to about 200 bucks. i also went to the local metal supply and got a 60 cubic foot bottle, that damn thing cost me 160 bucks. then i got a 4x8 sheet of 16 guage and a 20' stick of 1x1 3/16 thick angle iron to make my cart. this will be my very first welding project so woohoo.
a friend of mine who has been welding for a while bought the lincoln 3500hd (i think that is what it is called) from home depot and he helped me pick this one out. he said this is actually better than the one he bought cause this one is rated and 140 amps and his is rated at 130. but he got the cart with his, which is no big deal to me cause i want to build mine ayways. i have been to busy to do anything so hopefully i can get started on my cart tomorrow night.
hey guys,i work at lowes in Ft. Payne Al. thanks for buying the welders.maybe now they can afford to give us a raise!!!!lol!!
ahhh... welders. i want a welder!!!
Oxarc wants $90 for a 2 ft. bottle. Dunno how many cubic feet that is... Its crazy! I don't plan on doing alot of Mig, but I look forward to doing it with flux-core wire for my airbag setup soon!
I was looking at the 3500hd on e-bay, but this one from Lowes was SO MUCH cheaper! It was everything I needed too. You can do aluminum as well.. Just need to buy the kit...
I e-bayed my PPE stuff and paid $100 for mine. Came with magnets, 3 locking pliers, slag hammer and brush, leather gloves, and auto darkening helmet. Although nothing is name brand, so I hope the helmet will altelast do its job! And the gloves is also what I hope will do good too!
Maztang, how much was the sheetmetal? And how much for the angle iron? They have carts on e-bay for $100, but it depends on whether you want to DIY it and learn how to weld good.
I'm thinking about trying to take up a job for welding... Just can't get enough! LOL!
