Well.. what small block? chevy ford? If you go chevy, you may have to notch your firewall for you distriburtor.. Im goin with a 5.0L/302cu ford.. dist. is in the front and i can run a t-5 trans a little easier..

the rear end you may want to beef up a little.. it wont be a prob until you hook up.. if you want to burn out all day, keep it stock.. if you want to race and beat the shit out of it (have fun ) then swap it out with a ford 9" or 8.8", or chevy 10 or 12 bolt.. your call..

v8mazda4ever is throwin a pathfinder rearend in his (along with the 350 chevy) he has a pics on his profile of the motor swap.. there is the link to his rear end swap

out of curiosity why do you want to run drolics? Not trying to get you away from it, but air is less of a hastle, better ride quality, and a little less expensive.. my 2 cents on that...

I dont even know where to find a hydro kit, so i can help you there.. good luck!

on the airbags ride better comment, that's not true at all. hydro's can ride REAL nice if setup right. you need accumulators. i'd like to run hydro's on my next truck.
the airbags are easier because you know about them. i met a guy that didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground when it came to bags, but he knew all about hydro's.
Laylow - you asked how big of a notch you need. that depends on if you wanna lay out or not, what the overall diameter of the tire you wanna run is, and where you mount your rams.
i'd run a triangulated 4link, because i like them a lot, and there's no reason not to.
there's some stuff to see at

well honestly i was thinkin hydros because i love that 3 wheel,, just looks cool coming around the corner,, as far as the motor its a fuelinjected 350/350 turbo.. If i change the rear end can i make my rims still work? right now im runnin deep dish 100 spoke 185/50/15,, but im thinkin caddy rims. i wanna get as low as possible without body dropping.. i was thinkin the round notch kit from FBI with a 4 link (wanna keep it really clean). but yah as always money is somewhat of a factor. i wont lie to you guys,, ive dropped alot of cars,,, with blocks and torches <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o -->

you'd have to change to a nissan or some other foreign rearend to keep your wheels... or i guess a narrowed gm 6 lug rearend would work too!! any ford rearend you'd have a different lug pattern...

Just my .02 - been doing hydro's for the last 10 years. Could probably answer most any question you might have regarding a mazda &amp; hydros.

do you mount your rams on link bars or on the axle?
do you run link bars, or what? leafs?
what's the common size/type of line and rams you use front/rear?
i have an idea what a 2 pump 4 dump setup does, but can you verify?
thanks
