i am in washington...kinda everett area...
honestly i dont have many plans for it...
it is all stock, i would like to keep it that for the most part..
right now i dont have that much money, but i work at pull-a-part so i can get cheap parts when needed-and when we have them.
i do need to do a tune up..very soon
anyone know how to remove the stock stereo?? without ruining anything???

you should let me know when you guys get any new mazdas in at pull a part theres not much on the ones there anymore.
i think there are some screws holding the radio if i remember correctly but i'm not 100% sure. its been a while since i've taken a radio out.

The radio actually sits behind the dash. You have to remove the entire plastic trim piece from the dash to get at the radio. It's kind of a pain in the ass. Then to mount any new headunit you'll have to cut out the trim piece to make it fit.

damn...thats wat i thought...i guess its a good thing i know how to use tools lol, and i have a dremel so i wont screw it up putting a different stereo in
i would love to keep this truck stock....but i like my music...and not even having a cassette player SUCKS!
and within the pull-a-part subject. i work at the one in arlington, i wouldnt be able to get you any deals or anything but just ask and i can tell ya if we have the vehicle

Any type of aftermarket cd player will not fit were the stock radio goes correctly. It will go about 1/2 way in and the back of the CD player will heat the defrost vents. If thats what your trying to accomplish you have to do like I did.

damn....ok so am i able to buy like a cheap attachment for now then...or is there a different place the would work for an after market stereo...i was thinkin kinda next to the steering column in the little alcove there??? would that work???

i don't remember how big that area is right off hand, but if you want something quick and simple you can mount it to the bottom of the dash. we did this for my brothers 63 falcon and it works great.
