What the hell is that..? Is that like a Flux Capacitor..? That sounds expensive.

yea its new they started to put them in the alt. when they quit using generators
pull your alt. and have it tested

with your truck running hold a screwdriver to the back of the alt. if it is magnatized it is working if not, get a new alt.

Went and bought a new alternator last night...100$ brand new w/ lifetime warranty.So new plugs, plug wires, starter, alternator, and called about a regulator and said they would have me one at the shop by 9:30am for 30$. I think the only damn thing left to replace on the truck is the A/C compressor, and it quit kicking on just before I dropped it off to get bagged So I will probably be buying one of those when I get the truck back it looks like.

Makes me so damn frustrated when shit breaks on my rides......but I guess I should be lucky , since the truck is paid off. I could be making a car payment every month and fixing shit going wrong .

The regulator should be built into the alternator.

The alternator went out in both of my vehicles within a week of each other. Used for the van $50 Dora got her's rebuilt for $80.
