I have a 1992 single cab b2200 and was wondering does anyone make a flush side cap (dont know what they are called) instead of a side cap with slots?

Those are factory. The slots are a vent. I'm pretty sure they relieve pressure when you shut the door with the windows up, or it's for the cab ventilation. If you want them gone you'll have to fill them.

I knew they were factory, but are the slots or vents really necessary?

Some of the guys have filled them. I doubt there'd be any issue doing so.

Filling them shouldn't create a problem. Might make shutting the doors harder with the windows up. But I don't think theses trucks are going to be all that air tight now anyway.
