What is this? What does it do? Does it need to be adjusted? If so how?

I think it's part of the idle air control valve, a switch that put's the higher rpm cold start circuit into action, but it doesn't affect a warmed up engine. I could be wrong, but it is part of the idle control valve mechanism. Scroll down in this link http://www.b2600i.com/rescue.htm

Sorry all truck is In the shop to get tran rebuilt. I forgot to take pic. Fyi $1500 for rebuild. Including the pump and a drum. Torque converter. And the parts from a rebuild kit. Let you guys know how it comes out.
