I love your setup with the cylinders.  That's a great way to mount them.  I have a question though.  The part you slid over the cylinder, is it welded to the cylinder to keep it from moving in the sleeve?  If they are, did you take the cylinder apart before you welded on them?  I have a toy that I'm about to start cutting up.  I have a couple of cylinders for the front and really like your setup and I'll probably bite off what you did.  The setup that I have to put on my truck is not one that is being sold to put on cars.  It's some industrial crap that I pulled off something before it got scrapped.  I'll be starting my own build thread in a few months on this.  It'll be an extremely low budget dragger.

Those sleeves are not welded to the cylinder, nothing is welded to the cylinder (do not weld to a cylinder unless you hone it out afterward) - although it is on there pretty tight.  Even then, gravity, the weight of the truck, and the solid link mount would keep it from going anywhere.

pmiller, I emailed you. Let me know if I can help you out anymore.   The outer sleeves are not welded to the cylinder. They are .005" larger than the cylinder, so there is no room for movement.
